MG Hector Variants Explained: Which Variant Offers the Best Value?
Published on 30 August 2026

The MG Hector is available in five main variants: Style, Select Pro, Smart Pro, Sharp Pro and Savvy Pro. Prices for the five-seat Hector start at ₹11.99 lakh and go up to ₹19.49 lakh, ex-showroom.
All five variants use the same 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine. However, the transmission options and features vary considerably. The lower variants cover essential safety and convenience, while the higher variants add connected technology, ventilated seats, powered front seats and Level 2 ADAS.
In this MG Hector variants guide, we explain what each version offers and help you identify the right variant for your budget.
MG Hector Variant-Wise Price
The following prices apply to the five-seat MG Hector and are effective from 1 July 2026.
| MG Hector variant | Transmission | Ex-showroom price |
| Style | 6-speed manual | ₹11.99 lakh |
| Select Pro | 6-speed manual | ₹14.80 lakh |
| Smart Pro | 6-speed manual | ₹15.80 lakh |
| Smart Pro | CVT | ₹17.00 lakh |
| Sharp Pro | 6-speed manual | ₹17.50 lakh |
| Sharp Pro | CVT | ₹18.60 lakh |
| Savvy Pro | CVT | ₹19.50 lakh |
These are all-India ex-showroom prices. A dual-tone exterior costs an additional ₹20,000. Registration, insurance and other charges will increase the final on-road price.
MG Hector Engine and Transmission
Every Hector variant uses a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine.
| Specification | MG Hector |
| Engine | 1.5-litre turbo-petrol |
| Displacement | 1,451 cc |
| Maximum power | 143 PS at 5,200 rpm |
| Maximum torque | 250 Nm at 3,000 rpm |
| Manual transmission | 6-speed manual |
| Automatic transmission | CVT |
| Fuel tank capacity | 60 litres |
The Style and Select Pro are available only with the manual gearbox. Smart Pro and Sharp Pro can be purchased with either a manual or CVT. The top Savvy Pro is available only with the CVT.
The CVT costs approximately ₹1.10 lakh to ₹1.20 lakh more than the corresponding manual variant. It should be more convenient for buyers who frequently drive in congested city traffic.

The Style is suitable for buyers who want the Hector’s space, road presence and essential safety features at the lowest possible price.
However, it feels like a basic version of an otherwise feature-rich SUV. It may appeal to buyers who do not need premium equipment or intend to add selected accessories after purchase.
MG Hector Select Pro

Who should buy the MG Hector Select Pro?
The Select Pro is suitable for buyers who want a panoramic sunroof, large touchscreen, digital instrument cluster, alloy wheels and reverse camera but are comfortable with a manual transmission.
The equipment list is much better than that of the Style, but the ₹2.81 lakh price difference is substantial.
MG Hector Smart Pro

Who should buy the MG Hector Smart Pro?
The Smart Pro is the strongest value-for-money variant in the Hector range.
For ₹1 lakh over the Select Pro manual, it adds TPMS, front parking sensors, 18-inch alloy wheels, leatherette upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and full connected-car technology.
It is also the most affordable Hector available with a CVT.
MG Hector Sharp Pro
Price: ₹17.50 lakh to ₹18.60 lakh
The Sharp Pro is available with both manual and CVT transmissions. It costs ₹1.70 lakh more than the Smart Pro manual and ₹1.60 lakh more than the Smart Pro CVT.

- Infinity by Harman premium sound system

- Automatic climate control
- Driver-side window auto up and down with anti-pinch
The Sharp Pro manual also gets telescopic steering adjustment. The brochure does not list telescopic adjustment for the Sharp Pro CVT.
The biggest practical additions are the ventilated front seats and powered adjustment for both front seats. These features should be especially useful for buyers who spend a lot of time driving in hot weather.
Does the MG Hector Sharp Pro get a 360-degree camera?
No. According to the official brochure, the Sharp Pro gets:
- Reverse parking camera
- Front parking sensors
- Rear parking sensors
The 360-degree HD camera with wheel view is reserved for the Savvy Pro.
Who should buy the MG Hector Sharp Pro?
The Sharp Pro is suitable for buyers who want premium cabin features but do not need ADAS.
Ventilated seats, powered front seats, automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers and the Infinity audio system make it a meaningful upgrade over the Smart Pro.
However, buyers should note that it does not get the 360-degree camera, powered tailgate or air purifier.
MG Hector Savvy Pro
Price: ₹19.50 lakh
The Savvy Pro is the fully loaded MG Hector. It is available only with the CVT and costs ₹90,000 more than the Sharp Pro CVT.
Important features over the Sharp Pro
- 360-degree HD camera with wheel view
- Automatic powered tailgate
- PM2.5 air purifier with AQI display and ioniser
- Telescopic steering adjustment
- Level 2 ADAS
The 360-degree camera should be particularly useful because the Hector measures 4,699 mm in length and 1,835 mm in width. The wheel-view function can help while parking close to a kerb or passing through a tight space.
MG Hector Savvy Pro ADAS features
The Level 2 ADAS package includes:
- Adaptive cruise control
- Bend cruise assistance
- Traffic jam assist
- Lane keep assist
- Lane departure warning
- Forward collision warning
- Safe distance warning
- Automatic emergency braking
- Automatic emergency braking for pedestrians
- Intelligent Hydraulic Braking Assistance
- Intelligent headlamp control
ADAS is a driver-assistance system and not a substitute for attentive driving. Its operation may be affected by faded lane markings, poor visibility, weather conditions and unpredictable traffic.
Who should buy the MG Hector Savvy Pro?
The Savvy Pro makes sense for buyers who specifically want ADAS and the complete Hector feature package.
The ₹90,000 premium over the Sharp Pro CVT is relatively reasonable because it adds ADAS, a 360-degree camera, powered tailgate and air purifier.

Which MG Hector Variant Should You Buy?
| Buyer requirement | Recommended variant |
| Lowest possible price | Style |
| Feature-loaded Hector with manual gearbox | Select Pro |
| Best overall value | Smart Pro |
| Most affordable automatic | Smart Pro CVT |
| Premium comfort without ADAS | Sharp Pro |
| Fully loaded Hector with ADAS | Savvy Pro |
Best budget choice: MG Hector Style
The Style offers strong standard safety, a spacious cabin and the same turbo-petrol engine as the higher variants. However, its convenience and infotainment features are limited.
Best value-for-money choice: MG Hector Smart Pro
The Smart Pro offers the best balance between price and features. It gets TPMS, front parking sensors, leatherette upholstery, 18-inch alloy wheels, connected-car technology and the option of a CVT.
The ₹1 lakh upgrade over the Select Pro manual appears easier to justify than the much larger jump from Style to Select Pro.
Best premium choice: MG Hector Sharp Pro
The Sharp Pro is the better choice for buyers who want ventilated seats, powered front seats, automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers and premium audio.
It does not get a 360-degree camera, but its reverse camera and front and rear parking sensors should cover basic parking requirements.
Best fully loaded choice: MG Hector Savvy Pro
The Savvy Pro adds ADAS, the 360-degree HD camera, air purifier and powered tailgate for ₹90,000 over the Sharp Pro CVT. Buyers who want the complete feature package should consider this variant.
Final Verdict
The MG Hector Style has an attractive starting price and an impressive list of standard safety features. However, its basic equipment may not satisfy buyers looking for a premium SUV experience.
The Select Pro is a major improvement, with its panoramic sunroof, 14-inch touchscreen, digital instrument cluster, reverse camera and alloy wheels. Its ₹2.81 lakh premium over the Style, however, is substantial.
For most buyers, the Smart Pro offers the best value. It adds important features such as TPMS, front parking sensors, leatherette upholstery and i-SMART connected technology. It is also the first variant available with a CVT.
The Sharp Pro is the better option for buyers seeking premium comfort, while the Savvy Pro is worth considering if ADAS and the 360-degree camera are priorities.
