Maruti Baleno Variants Explained (2026 Facelift)

The 2026 Maruti Baleno facelift is available in five main variants: Sigma, Delta, Zeta, Alpha and Alpha (O). Maruti Suzuki has spread the features across the range, so the differences between the variants go well beyond exterior styling.

The Sigma covers the basics, while the Delta adds more convenience and infotainment features. The Zeta brings LED lighting, a larger touchscreen and several premium features, while the Alpha adds equipment such as ventilated front seats, a Head Up Display and a 360 View Camera. The Baleno is powered by Maruti Suzuki’s 1.2-litre three-cylinder Z12E petrol engine. Petrol versions are available with a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT, while S-CNG versions use a 5-speed manual gearbox. Maruti Suzuki lists 82.93 PS and 112.4 Nm for the petrol engine and 69.75 PS and 101.8 Nm in CNG mode.

Baleno Sigma

The Baleno Sigma is the entry-level variant, but it gets the core safety equipment found across the range.

It comes with six airbags, ESP with Hill Hold Assist, ABS with EBD, Brake Assist, reverse parking sensors, three-point ELR seat belts, seat-belt reminders, seat-belt pre-tensioners and force limiters, ISOFIX anchorages and an Emergency Stop Signal.

The Sigma uses 185/65 R15 steel wheels with full wheel covers and gets projector halogen headlamps. The NEXA Signature LED tail lamps, back-door spoiler, body-coloured bumpers and fender chrome garnish are also standard.

Inside, the Sigma gets a segment-display MID, all power windows, central locking with keyless entry, a manual digital air conditioner, rear defogger and a 60:40 split rear seat. It also gets a driver-side power window with auto up/down and pitch guard.

The Sigma does not get TPMS, a touchscreen infotainment system, rear AC vents, steering-mounted audio controls or an automatic transmission.

The Sigma makes sense for buyers who want the Baleno’s basic package without paying for premium equipment.

Baleno Delta

The Delta is the first major step up from the Sigma. It adds several features that make the car more convenient for everyday use, while also introducing automatic and CNG powertrain options.

The Delta gets 185/65 R15 steel wheels with full wheel covers, body-coloured door handles and ORVMs with turn indicators. It also gets projector halogen headlamps and the NEXA Signature LED tail lamps.

The air conditioner remains manual, but the Delta adds a 17.78 cm SmartPlay Pro touchscreen and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It also gets four speakers.

For buyers who want an automatic or CNG Baleno without moving too far up the range, the Delta is an important variant to consider.

Baleno Zeta

The Zeta is where the Baleno’s equipment level takes a noticeable jump.

It gets 195/55 R16 painted alloy wheels, LED projector headlamps and NEXTré LED DRLs. Chrome-plated door handles, a back-door chrome garnish and a more detailed NEXWave grille are also added.

For many buyers, the Zeta is likely to be the most balanced variant because it adds a substantial amount of equipment without moving to the highest price points.

Baleno Alpha

The Alpha adds another layer of premium equipment over the Zeta.

It gets the same 16-inch alloy wheels, LED projector headlamps, NEXTré LED DRLs and 22.86 cm SmartPlay Pro+ infotainment system, but adds LED fog lamps, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, leatherette upholstery and front ventilated seats.
The Alpha also gets a Head Up Display and 360 View Camera. Other convenience upgrades include cruise control, an auto-dimming inside rear-view mirror, auto-folding ORVMs and a co-driver vanity lamp. The air conditioner is automatic, rather than the manual system used on Sigma and Delta.

The Alpha is aimed at buyers who want a more premium cabin and additional technology but do not specifically need ADAS.

Baleno Alpha (O)

The Alpha (O) is the top-spec Baleno and adds the most significant technology upgrade in the range: Level 2+ ADAS.

It retains the premium features of the Alpha, including the 16-inch alloy wheels, LED projector headlamps, NEXTré LED DRLs, LED fog lamps, SmartPlay Pro+, wireless charging, Head Up Display, 360 View Camera, ventilated front seats, leatherette upholstery and Clarion premium sound system.

Which 2026 Baleno variant should you buy?

The right variant depends largely on how much equipment you want and whether you need an automatic or CNG powertrain.

Sigma is for buyers who want the basic Baleno package and are comfortable with a manual gearbox. Despite being the entry variant, it gets six airbags, ESP with Hill Hold Assist, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors and other important safety equipment.

What is standard across the Baleno range?
