Hyundai Creta Price Range in Gurugram

The Hyundai Creta E petrol is the most affordable version, with an ex-showroom price of ₹10.91 lakh and an estimated on-road price of ₹12.66 lakh.

At the other end of the range, the King Turbo DCT DT costs ₹20.06 lakh ex-showroom and approximately ₹23.40 lakh on-road in Gurugram.

The Creta is available with three engine options:

  • 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol
  • 1.5-litre diesel
  • 1.5-litre turbo-petrol

Depending on the engine and variant, buyers can choose between manual, iVT, diesel automatic and DCT transmission options.

Haryana Road Tax for Hyundai Creta

Since Gurugram falls under Haryana, the road tax is calculated according to the applicable Haryana vehicle taxation rules. For private cars, the one-time road tax is based on the vehicle’s price.

The applicable road tax slabs are:

  • 5% road tax for cars priced below ₹6 lakh
  • 8% road tax for cars priced from ₹6 lakh to ₹20 lakh
  • 10% road tax for cars priced above ₹20 lakh

Most Hyundai Creta variants fall in the ₹6 lakh to ₹20 lakh ex-showroom price range and therefore attract road tax at 8%.

Among the variants in the table, only the King Turbo DCT DT crosses the ₹20 lakh mark. Its registration calculation is therefore based on the 10% slab. The regular King Turbo DCT costs ₹19,91,300 ex-showroom and remains within the 8% slab.

Haryana applies the same road-tax slabs to petrol and diesel private cars. A diesel Creta does not attract a higher percentage merely because of its fuel type.

Registration, HSRP and Hypothecation Charges

In addition to lifetime road tax, buyers may have to pay smaller charges related to the registration certificate and High Security Registration Plate or HSRP.

If you are financing the vehicle, a hypothecation endorsement charge may also apply. This records the bank or finance company’s interest in the vehicle until the loan is fully repaid.

CarDekho combines the percentage-based road tax under “Registration Charges” and does not show every smaller fee separately in its estimates. Ask the Hyundai dealer for an itemised quotation that clearly separates:

  • Road tax
  • Registration fee
  • HSRP charges
  • FASTag
  • Hypothecation charges, if financed
  • TCS
  • Insurance
  • Optional accessories or packages

This will help you identify any optional items added to the quotation.

Insurance Cost

The on-road price also includes an estimated motor insurance premium. A new private car is generally sold with three-year third-party insurance, while own-damage cover may be provided for the first year and renewed annually.

The final insurance premium depends on several factors, including:

  • Selected Creta variant
  • Engine type
  • Insured Declared Value or IDV
  • Insurance company
  • Zero-depreciation cover
  • Engine-protection cover
  • Return-to-invoice cover
  • Dealer or insurer discounts

You are not required to purchase insurance from the dealership. It can be useful to compare the dealer’s quotation with independent insurers, provided the policy offers suitable coverage and a convenient cashless garage network.

TCS on Hyundai Creta

Tax Collected at Source or TCS applies when the value of a motor vehicle exceeds ₹10 lakh. The seller collects TCS from the buyer and deposits it against the buyer’s PAN.

CarDekho shows an “Others” amount equal to approximately 1% of the ex-showroom price in its Creta calculations. This appears to represent the TCS component.

TCS is not necessarily a permanent additional cost. The amount appears in your tax records and may be adjusted against your final income-tax liability, subject to the applicable tax rules.

Which Creta Variant Should You Buy in Gurugram?

Lowest-Priced Option

The Creta E petrol is the most affordable variant, with an estimated on-road price of ₹12.66 lakh. It is suitable for buyers who primarily want the Creta’s space, engine and standard safety package.

However, the base variant has a relatively limited convenience feature list. Compare its equipment carefully with the EX before making a decision.

More Convenience on a Budget

The EX and EX (O) variants add useful equipment over the base version. The EX (O) is also available with the iVT automatic transmission, which can make daily driving more convenient in Gurugram’s heavy traffic.

The EX (O) iVT has an estimated on-road price of approximately ₹16.71 lakh.

Sunroof and Premium Features

The SX and SX Premium variants are better suited to buyers looking for features such as a panoramic sunroof and a more premium cabin.

The SX petrol manual costs approximately ₹17.33 lakh on-road, while the SX Premium petrol manual costs around ₹18.81 lakh. The SX Premium is also available with iVT petrol and diesel-manual options.

For Frequent Highway Driving

A diesel-manual Creta may make sense if you regularly cover long distances or frequently use the vehicle for highway journeys. Options such as the EX Diesel and S (O) Diesel provide a choice at different price points.

The diesel automatic versions offer greater convenience but carry a considerable price premium. Your annual running should be high enough to justify the additional purchase cost of the diesel version.

For Automatic Buyers

The iVT versions are suitable for buyers who want smooth and relaxed city driving. The 1.5-litre turbo-petrol DCT offers stronger performance but is available only in the expensive King variants listed here.

Buyers who want a diesel automatic can consider the EX (O) Diesel AT, S (O) Diesel AT or King Diesel AT, depending on their budget.

Top-End Choice

The King variants offer many of the Creta’s premium comfort, safety and technology features. The King Turbo DCT is suitable for buyers seeking stronger performance, while the dual-tone King Turbo DCT DT is the most expensive Creta in this price list.

At approximately ₹23.40 lakh on-road, the top model should also be compared with larger SUVs before making a final decision.

Additional Costs to Consider

The on-road price does not cover every expense associated with buying and owning the vehicle. Depending on your purchase, you may also need to budget for:

  • Dealer accessories
  • Extended warranty
  • Service or maintenance packages
  • Loan processing fees
  • Loan interest
  • Paint-protection treatments
  • Insurance add-ons
  • Parking or residential registration charges

Loan interest and lender processing fees are separate from the vehicle’s on-road price.

How to Get an Accurate Dealer Quotation

Online prices are useful for estimating your budget, but the final amount may differ from one dealership to another. Before paying the booking amount, ask for a written quotation showing every charge separately.

You should check:

  1. Whether the insurance premium includes optional add-ons
  2. Whether an accessory package has been included
  3. Whether any handling or logistics charge has been added
  4. Whether current Hyundai or dealer discounts have been deducted
  5. Whether the quotation includes an extended warranty or service package
  6. Whether the correct road-tax slab has been applied

Getting quotations from two or three Hyundai dealerships in Gurugram can help you compare insurance, accessories and available discounts.
